THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY/APPOINTIVE SERVICE

 

$19.94 hourly.  Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.  Government Center/Viera.  Part-time/up to 25 hours per week.  Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Performs entry-level professional work assisting with urban/regional planning projects, including reviewing plans and collecting and analyzing data for planning projects related to the area of assignment and assisting in community planning and design studies.

 

REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration Business Administration, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Statistics, or a closely related field OR Student who has successfully completed at least three (3) years [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one (1) years] of a Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university in Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Statistics, or a closely related field PLUS must meet all of the requirements for graduation within twelve (12) months of submitting the Intern application OR Current student enrolled in a Master’s degree program at an accredited college or university in Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Statistics, or a closely related field PLUS must meet all of the requirements for graduation within twelve (2) months of submitting the Intern application.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment.  In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
